A Night at Matapouri: Experiencing Our Vision

Graeme and Justin had the privilege of staying overnight in one of their projects — a house they envisioned during lockdown, now nestled comfortably into the landscape of Matapouri Bay.

A Rare Opportunity

Staying in a house we've designed is a rare and invaluable opportunity. It’s one thing to create a space on paper and see it come to life through construction, but it’s an entirely different experience to live in it, even if just for a night.

Seeing the House in Use

What made this stay particularly special was witnessing how our clients utilised the space. Seeing them entertain, relax, and truly make the house their own was incredibly rewarding.

The Devil in the Details

Photographs can capture the essence of a project, but they often miss the finer details. During our stay, we had time to notice the intricate finishing touches and craftsmanship implemented by @HayesBuilders — details that brought our design to life in ways we can’t fully appreciate until we see them up close.

A Memorable Evening

The night was filled with laughter, excellent company, and an amazing dinner. It was a great evening, reinforcing our love for creating spaces that bring people together and foster memorable experiences.

A Joy to Work On

Reflecting on the journey from concept to completion, we can say that this project was a joy to work on. Seeing the end result and knowing it brings happiness and comfort to its inhabitants is the ultimate reward for us as architects.

We look forward to many more opportunities to create spaces that inspire and delight.
